We celebrated Emma's second birthday this weekend. I had been planning this for a long time and was so excited about it...and of course nothing went as planned but that is OK because we had lots of fun. We celebrated with some friends and family and had lots of food!
Earlier during the summer we celebrated Mimi, my uncle Michel, Grand-mama cloclo, and papa's birthday...so she kind of knew what birthdays were about. When I told her her birthday was next week, she replied "gateau" (cake)... she quickly put 2 and 2 together! And the entire week when we made cake out of sand at the park they were always for Emma. We were able to teach her that she was going to be 2 years old. We asked her how old she was going to be and she proudly replied TWO!
This year for her birthday we got her a huge wooden playset that we build at my parents place. It took us a while to decide which one we wanted, and finally the huge end off season sale made tat decision for us. It took us 3 weekends to put it together...but we are so pleased with the end product, and Emma and Lucas are too!
Birthdays are always a good time to reflect on all the changes that happened in the past. Emma is definetly a blessing in our lives. She has changed so much during this past year and it has been a lot of fun to be able to watch her grow. She is so smart and funny! And now that she talks more and that we can have somewhat of a conversation with her it is very interesting. The other night, I had made a salad with some pieces of oranges on it and put it on the table. When I came back, Emma was sitting at a chair eating the pieces of oranges, and ate them all. I asked her where the oranges had gone and she replied that the orange had gone nite nite in the grass. I am looking forward to this next year and watching her grow and learn more and more everyday and especially watching Emma intrect with her little brother.

je ris..de bon coeur en pensant les difficultés que Jeff et Mimi ont eu à monter l'air de jeux!

Je suis moins lourde que Mimi..enfin je pense.:))
