More apples...

Fall is settling in very nicely here up north. The cool weather is good and the leaves are changing rapidly. The colors in the mountains are so impressive! It had been such a long time since I wanted to go apple picking that we went 3 times in past 3 weeks. It is such a fun activity and a good way to venture out of the city. Our last apple picking outing was with a bunch of our friends and their kids...total 8 kids and 4 mommies!

So you can only imagine the amount of apples we have in the house. So far we have made 4 batches of apple sauce (Lucas is loving it), 1 apple crisp, 2 apple and cheddar omelets, apple spice muffins, 1 apple crumble pie, apple-butternut squash soup, apple pancake, and 1 apple sugar pie (possibly the best pie in the world)...and of course we eat at least 1 apple every day for our morning snack. How does the saying go.."one apple a day, keeps the doctor away"...I think we are covered for a while!
Because with fall also comes rainy days, I have put some pictures (don't forget to click on the picture above to go see more pictures) of our rainy play dates with some friends. The girls had fun making and decorating cookies...but had way more fun eating them!
