We have just come back from a well-deserved vacation in the North Carolina Outer Banks. Since last year's move to Canada we sort of skipped vacations last year ... so yes this was well deserved!
Back to the vacation... Our kids our the best kids in the world!!! They made the 16 hour car trip like champs (thanks to the portable dvd player). One hour into our trip, everything was going perfectly...the kids were happily watching Mickey mouse and we were ahead of schedule...then the portable dvd stopped...Jeff and I looked at each other with a look of panic in our eyes...how were we going to make it with this life saver dvd player??? No worries, one "quick" stop at best buy and we were back on this perfect vacation!!!
We stopped in Philadelphia and visited with our friends David and Carrie, their little girl Arden and their new twins Annie and Jack. It was great to see them and looking forward to see them in Dallas for Christmas.
The house we stayed at was about 100 yards from the beach and we took in every moment that we could. Since the kids wake up super early, even on vacation, we went to see the sun get up every morning. Then back to the house for some breakfast. A stop at the pool (oh yeah the house also had a pool!) and back to the beach to enjoy the waves and the warm sand. To make sure we digest our awesome dinner, we went back to the beach every night with our flash lights and disturbed the crabs! And we started over for the 5 next days...life was rough;)
The kids had a blast running in the water and playing in the sand and were so beautiful on the beach...I went a little crazy with all the pics (see for yourself).
