In getting ready for the arrival of the new addition to our family we had to move Emmanuelle's "old" furniture into the baby's room (because mommy did not want to buy another crib) and we got Emmanuelle new "big" girl furniture. Emma being only 17 months, we debated for a while if we should get a toddler bed for her or just a regular bed with some railing to make sure that she does not fall. Finally, we opted for the regular bed. Last weekend, both Jeff and I had a 3-day weekend and we turned the gears into full speed, moved furniture and painted the rooms...really Jeff did most of the work and I supervised, as I am having trouble tieing my shoes right now. We still have some little decorating finishes to add, but the rooms look great.
We were very excited and curious to see how Emma would react to her new "big" girl room. Well she LOVES it! She immediately jumped on the bed and brought all her babies and put them to bed. She loves to open and close and open and close and open and close and...(well I think you get the idea) the door from the night stand. She just looks like she is so comfortable in the room. And in some weird way it almost looks like she understand that it is her "big" girl room and she is proud of it! We have caught her on occasions just chilling out on her bed while eating her little snack.
The funny thing is that for the past 3-4 months Emma had been waking up 1-2 times per night, and eventually would end up in our bed (every night) ... which of course would not be a good thing once the new baby will be here. Well since we introduced her to her new room (last Sunday) she has slept in her bed all night...HALLELUJAH!!!! If we would have known this we would have gotten her "big" girl bed months ago.
