Blabber Mouth

Jeff speaks English and I speak French to Emma. At daycare she gets a mix of Spanish and English. It has been a concern of ours since the beginning...would that be too many languages, will she be able to learn how to talk....well we are not worried anymore!!! Emma has been talking non stop and learning new words every week. The funny thing is that she knows certain words in every language, and can only say them in 1 language, but she does seem to understand them in the other languages.

She can say "chien" (dog in french) and make the deep "woof" that goes with it; and will actually repeat "woof" everytime she hears a dog bark. She can also say "ca" for cat and "meow". She also can says what the bird says, "pii", but can't say bird yet. And the cow, goes "meuh" and still working on cow. She learned "mine" a long time ago from the little boys at daycare. She can point a "baw" (ball) from miles away. She loves her "aqua" (that's about the only word in Spanish, or that we know anyway). She also loves "appel" (apple) and "nana" (banana). It has been cold here in Dallas for the last few weeks and had to wear more clothing along with that came the "hapeau" (chapeau or hat in french) and her "oulier" (soulier or shoes in french). She also LOVES her "bahby" (baby). She knows where we need to sit and says proudly "assi" (assis or sit in french). She loves saying "bye" and "Hi" to really anybody. When it is time to go home from daycare she has to say bye to everybody and gives a "hifee" (high five) to everyone...it is too cute!!! And she finally said "Papa", which made Jeff the happiest guy on earth!

So like I was saying...I don't think that we need to be worry about her having a speech delay due to the multi-language environment.
