Lucas Cub Livingston 2.24.2010

It's a BOY!!! Lucas Cub Livingston was born on 2/24/2010 at 11:12 am. My new theory is that if you want to go into labor and finally see your baby, just schedule to be induced (Both Emma and Lucas came 2 days before they were scheduled to be induced). He weighed 9 lbs 3 oz and was 22 in (We make big babies!!!). We are all doing great and should be going home this afternoon!!!

Lucas had swallowed some muconium and it seemed like he was going to have to go to NICU for similar reasons as Emma did when she was born (if you remember she ended up 1 weeks in NICU). As the NICU team seemed they were not going to be able to get his breathing under control, one nurse suggested I do skin to skin with Lucas (skin to skin is simply putting the naked baby on your naked chest). After 15 minutes of skin to skin, the yacking was gone and his breathing was normal and under control. We are so gratefull we were able to avoid a trip to NICU and that he is healthy!!!

Emmanuelle got to meet her little brother and it was love at first sight. As soon as she saw him she wanted to hold him and pointed out his little nose and even kissed him...it was sooooooo cute!!!

Both Jeff and I were convinced that we were going to have another little girl...probably because we already had a little girl and could not imagine our life without her. So we were pleasently surprised when we found out we were having a boy!!! We are told the look on our face was worth millions!!! We are so excited about our family of four and our little new little boy!
